DIY HOMEMADE DISHWASHER SOAP
DIY HOMEMADE DISHWASHER SOAP:
PERFECT FOR HOMESTEADS WITH HARD WATER:
For those of us that like to make our own soaps, you might find that when making dishwashing soap you get a residue on your glass or plastics IF YOU HAVE HARD WATER. We have tried a few different recipes and finally have found one that works perfect for those with HARD WATER leaving NO MORE RESIDUE!!!
Ingredients:
1 cup of Borax
1/2 cup Epsom Salt
1 cup Arm and Hammer washing soda
1/3 to 1/2 cup lemon juice
8 drops of Lavender Essential Oil
1/2 cup Epsom Salt
1 cup Arm and Hammer washing soda
1/3 to 1/2 cup lemon juice
8 drops of Lavender Essential Oil
Combine:
Borax, Epsom Salt, Washing Soda, and Lavender Oil
Add Lemon Juice: 1 Tbs at a time until damp, but not soaked
Press into an ice cube tray, recipe fills one tray. Tap on counter to settle in the tray. Dry 3-4 hours. Store in an airtight container.
HOMEMADE MOUTHWASH
HOMEMADE MOUTHWASH
I use an empty glass 1 quart vinegar bottle for the mouthwash as it has a nice pour spout and usually has a plastic cap. Your bottle must be very clean, you can actually sterilize the bottle in boiling water for several minutes. Let dry completely. 2 cups distilled water, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 10 drops peppermint EO (essential oil) 8 drops tea tree EO, 5 drops lemon EO, 2 drops myrrh EO- optional, 1-2 teaspoons xylitol or to taste. Using a funnel, add baking soda and xylitol first, then water and EO's. If using myrrh, it will tend to collect rather than mingle with other ingredients. Cap it and shake to blend well. Keep in a dark cabinet. Shake well before each use to re-blend. I usually 1 1/2 or double the recipe. Make sure not to swallow the mouthwash!!!
MOTHERWORT-LEMON BALM TINCTURE & ORAL HYGIENE PRODUCTS
I strained and bottled about a quart and a half of Motherwort-Lemon Balm tincture, made homemade mouthwash with essential oils and remineralizing tooth powder today.
